Privacy Policy

Your privacy is important. The best measures possible are taken to ensure that your data is kept safe and secure.

1. Definitions

  • Molequles Online refers to the use of Molequles with an account, through either:
  • Molequles Offline refers to the use of Molequles in "Offline Mode" through the desktop app

2. Account Registration

To use Molequles Online, you must register an account. During registration, you will either provide your email address and a password, or sign in using a Google account. When using Google sign-in, only your email address is shared with Molequles. No information other than your Molequles account credentials are collected, and they are never used for any purpose other than authenticating your access to Molequles.

For Molequles Offline, account registration is not required.

3. Cookies

Molequles Online uses cookies solely for authenticating your access to the app.

No cookies are used in Molequles Offline.

4. User Data

All user-entered data in Molequles remains the sole property of the user (you). User data is never sold or shared with any third parties, and is never used for any purpose outside of processing and storage within Molequles.

For all versions:

  • User data is stored locally on-device using IndexedDB.

For Molequles Online:

  • Access to user data on the server is strictly authenticated. Only you can access your data.
  • User data is isolated with individual databases for each user.
  • All user data is encrypted in transit to/from the server and at rest on the server.

For Molequles Offline:

  • User data is only stored on the device that is running the app.
  • The app does not communicate with any servers in "Offline Mode"

5. Service Providers

Molequles Online uses service providers to host the necessary infrastructure for the app. These providers process data solely as needed to operate Molequles and do not use it for their own purposes.

  • Google Firebase: Provides user authentication services
  • Cloudflare: Provides hosting, CDN, and LLM processing for the Import Formula feature (see details here)
  • Linode: Provides server infrastructure (located in the United States) for data storage and replication

Molequles Offline does not interact with any service providers.

6. Data Retention

Data is retained only as long as your account record exists in Molequles Online.

You can opt to delete your Molequles account at any time from the Settings page, via the "Delete Account" button. This will perform a full permanent erasure of all data associated with your account in Molequles, as well as deleting the account record.

For Molequles Offline, you are responsible for deleting the Molequles data stored on your device.

7. Analytics

The Molequles web app uses Cloudflare for hosting, which provides basic analytics like page views and browser statistics. These analytics are aggregated and do not track individual users.

The application UI does not perform any analytics on individual users or user interactions, in online or offline mode.
